Women's Healthcare

and Reproductive Freedom

Women’s healthcare is healthcare, and it must be treated as such. Every woman and girl deserves access to safe, affordable, and comprehensive care, free from political control. Protecting reproductive freedom for all people is essential to protecting equality, opportunity, and basic human dignity.

What I'll Fight For
  • The right of every woman and girl to make her own healthcare decisions without political interference
  • Expanded access to reproductive healthcare, including contraception, prenatal care, and pregnancy health services
  • Ending the structural barriers that make care inaccessible in rural and low-income communities
  • Policies that protect young girls, assault survivors, and women facing medical emergencies
  • A healthcare system that treats women with dignity, respect, and autonomy
Why this Matters in South Carolina

South Carolina faces some of the highest maternal mortality rates in the country, especially among Black women. Many counties have no OB-GYNs, no birthing centers, and no reproductive health providers. Rural hospital closures and restrictive laws have created healthcare deserts where people cannot access even basic reproductive care. These conditions are not accidental, they are the result of policy choices.

Key Policies and Priorities

Protecting Reproductive Freedom

I support restoring and protecting the right of women and girls to make their own healthcare decisions. Politicians should not be in exam rooms, and no one should be forced to carry a pregnancy against their will. Reproductive freedom is essential to equality, safety, and economic stability.

Expanding Access to Care in Rural Communities

Many rural areas in South Carolina have lost hospitals, maternity wards, and OB-GYNs. I support targeted investments to reopen services, expand mobile clinics, and incentivize providers to serve rural communities. Women should not have to drive hours to access basic care.

Maternal Health & Prenatal Care

Improving maternal health requires early, consistent, and high quality prenatal care. I support expanding Medicaid coverage, increasing access to midwives and doulas, and addressing racial disparities in maternal outcomes. Every mother deserves safe, respectful care before, during, and after childbirth.

Birth Control & Family Planning

Access to contraception is essential for health, economic stability, and family planning. I support making birth control affordable, accessible and available without unnecessary barriers. When women can plan their futures, families and communities are stronger.

Protecting Young Girls & Survivors

Young girls, survivors of assault, and women facing medical emergencies deserve compassionate, timely care not delays, judgment, or legal threats. I support policies that ensure emergency care is available without fear, stigma, or political interference.

Every woman and girl deserves the freedom, dignity, and healthcare she needs to live a safe and self determined life.
